DESCRIPTION:Request More Info\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are assembling a team to serve and work alongside the community in Consuelo\, Dominican Republic this coming summer. We would like to have the majority of the team committed by the first week of January. Previous groups have worked on construction projects\, run kids’ clubs\, and made home visits to community members. Pastor Julio invited us personally to come and see what God is doing in their community. The team is limited to a maximum of 25 for this trip. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate paperwork and travel logistics for the team and kids’ club program and materials. The tentative trip dates are June 27-July 4\, 2026. A choir for adults & teens (grade 6 and up) is now forming to sing during both morning services on Sunday\, December 21. We will be singing the song\, “Joy to the World/Joyful\, Joyful” during the offering\, as well as helping to lead worship. Here is a link to the recording. There is no need to know how to read music as we’ll be learning this by listening to the recording along with a lyric sheet! There will only be one weeknight rehearsal: Tuesday\, December 16\, 6:30-7:30pm. You must also be available to practice at 7:15 am on Sunday\, December 21. Lea and Anna will be joining Ebenezer’s ministry staff on November 10\, and Nancy has already been serving as an employee. We’re excited to see how the Lord will work through them as they minister to our children and their families. \n\n\n\n\nLea Pagliughi – is the Children’s Ministry Director\, and will oversee Sunday School\, Nursery\, VBS\, filling volunteer roles\, camp\, and many logistical details (15 hr/week).\n\n\n\nAnna Sell is the Assistant Children’s Ministry Director and will primarily be responsible to train & develop teachers\, choose curriculum\, and oversee Kids Club. (7 hr/week)\n\n\n\nNancy Murphy is the church’s Office Assistant.  She will be adding up to 5 hours per week to her existing responsibilities in order to provide admin support to the Children’s Ministry.

In our next Sunday Night Theology lecture\, Dr. Brian Payne invites us to take a closer look at a few of the familiar phrases and clichés we often repeat in church life. Are they truly biblical\, or have we accepted expressions more shaped by poor theology\, a low view of God\, or culture rather than by Scripture? Does our language distort who God is and what Christ has done for us? Join us for a thoughtful and challenging look at the words and phrases that have unfortunately become the “norm” in the American Church. Brian Payne comes to us from Auburn\, AL where he is the Lead Pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church.  He is also one of our teens’ favorite speakers from the D3 Youth Conference they attend each summer.  SNT lectures are held monthly\, on 2nd Sundays\, in the Sanctuary.
