(http://aplaceforyou NULL.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Philippians NULL.png)1) Philippians: Be Joyful – Exp215
Taught By: Phil Norris
Room: Room 2

In spite of his dire situation as a prisoner in a Roman jail, Paul’s letter to the church at Philippi overflows with joy. Philippians is the epistle of joy and encouragement in the midst of adverse circumstances. In it, Paul freely expresses his fond affection for the Philippians in a view of their consistent testimony and support, and lovingly urges them to center their actions and thoughts on the person, pursuit, and power of Jesus Christ. Paul also seeks to correct a problem with disunity and rivalry, urging his readers to imitate Christ in His humility and servanthood. So join us as we seek to apply the truths taught here: to be joyful despite our circumstances and to be like Christ to a world needing true joy.

2) Romans, Part 2 – Exp310
Taught by: Pastor Dick Bickings & Matt Amarzley
Gym-North

Romans, Paul’s magnum opus, is placed first among his thirteen epistles in the New Testament.  While  the four Gospels present the words and works of Jesus Christ.  Romans explores the significance of his sacrificial death.  Using a question-and-answer format.  Paul records the most systematic presentation of doctrine in the Bible.  But Romans is more than a book of theology: it is also a book of practical exhortations. The good news of Jesus Christ is more than facts to be believed; it is also a life to be lived — a life of righteousness befitting the person “justified freely by His [God’s] grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”  (3:24)  affected the New Testament  beliefs and look to apply their dynamic message for us today.

(http://aplaceforyou NULL.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Esther NULL.png)3) Ruth and Esther – Exp329
Taught by: Richard Mastronardo
Room: Gym-South

Ruth and Esther are the only two books in the Bible named after women. At first glance the one seems to share the story about a woman struggling to care for herself and an aging mother-in-law and protecting a family in the midst of calamity, while the other seems to be sharing a woman’s challenge on becoming queen and protecting a nation in the midst of annihilation. However as we study, we see in both books, the providence and sovereignty of God and His control over everyday affairs. And through these two women we see how God used them (and how He can use us) to bless nations and generations beyond our imagination.

(http://aplaceforyou NULL.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/deeplyrooted NULL.png)4) 1, 2, 3 John – Exp328
Taught by: Chris Jones & Mike Hard
Room: Room 18

Truth and love are recurring themes of John’s three epistles. As those changed by God, genuine believers will characteristically love the truth and exhibit true love for others. John’s fiery passion for truth is coupled with his gentle compassion for his readers, giving these letters a pastoral quality that is nearly unmatched in Scripture. In first John we read about fellowship with God, in second John we see the dangers of fellowship with false teachers, and in third John we see the importance of fellowship with other true believers.
Join us as we study these three books and find encouragement, conviction, understanding and confidence for our Christian walk.

Why Should I Bother with Adult Electives?

(http://aplaceforyou NULL.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/AE-class NULL.png)

In a time when we are all busy and rushing around, why should we add one more thing like Adult Electives to our plate? Sundays are full enough. Why do we need another thing to attend? Here are some reasons:

  1. To help you know Scripture:
During the elective hour, we have the opportunity to go deeper and learn about additional books of the Bible that we might avoid or push off as difficult.
  2. A place to ask ALL questions:
We usually don’t have an opportunity to ask questions during the sermon, but during the elective is a safe place to ask all kinds of questions and learn.
  3. To build relationships:
Through our time together, interactions, and sharing, we learn and grow together.
  4. To grow:
As we learn God’s Word and work to apply its truth, we grow in maturity, so come and see why so many spend the time with the Adult of Electives!
