SUNDAY ADULT ELECTIVES

Sundays, 10:05 – 11:00 am
Join us for these weekly classes that offer solid Bible teaching that is dynamic, interesting, and helpful! Choose from 1-3 different classes each semester.

This Semester: Spring 2024
Jan 14 – June 9, 2024

1) Why Church History? – This class is for Teens & Adults. The study of church history can be inspiring, but is meant to provide more. Serious reflection on the past protects us from error, reminds us of God’s faithfulness, and motivates us to persevere. In this class we will dive into the history of the church and see what we can learn and apply from it. Taught by Pastor Josh Von Holt, Marcus Brunstetter and others. Meets in Gym-South.

2) Ezekiel, Part 2 of 3 – The class on Ezekiel is continuing; new participants are always welcome. Ezekiel prophesied while he and many other Jews were exiles in Babylon during the last days of Judah’s decline and downfall. His ministry was, in some ways, similar to that of his older contemporary Jeremiah who prophesied in Jerusalem. But while Jeremiah delivered a chilling message of the destruction of Jerusalem, Ezekiel brought a warming message of eventual reconstruction. Jeremiah was a man of tears; Ezekiel was a man of visions. And those visions stretched from horror to hope, and from condemnation upon Judah’s faithless leaders and godless foes, to consolation regarding Judah’s (and Israel’s) future. Through it all, God demonstrated, through what He revealed and carried out, that He is sovereign and omnipotent and works all things for His often stated purpose that “they shall know that I am the Lord” (6:10). Ezekiel, as a watchman for Israel, warned her of the judgment that was imminent and stressed the need for individual responsibility as well as national accountability before God. Each Israelite was personally to turn to the Lord. Likewise, the whole nation needed to ultimately return to Him. Join us as we study the message of this watchman to Israel and the nations that spans from the time of his ministry through the time of Christ’s glorious return and reign on the earth. Taught by Scott Holwick. Meets in Gym-North. Class Notes & Recordings Available Here

KINSHIP GROUPS

Meet Every-Other Sunday Evening
September – May

Kinship Groups offer a great way to connect with others and build lasting relationships with families in our church. They are small groups (10-15 people on average), a microcosm of our church, that meet bi-weekly from September – May for the purpose of sharing our faith and life issues, and engaging in “one-anothering” as prescribed in Scripture in a way not possible in a larger group setting. Normally, this is done as we meet in various homes for Bible discussion, fellowship, prayer, and outreach ministries. If you are currently not involved in a Kinship group, please REGISTER HERE. Questions can be directed to Travis Schanely.

MID-WEEK GATHERING

Wednesdays, 6:30 – 7:30pm

A weekly time of Bible Study & Prayer in the sanctuary on Wednesday nights, September through May. Each gathering includes a time of singing and Bible study, as well as time spent in prayer as we lift up the needs and praises of our church family, community and nation. Led by various pastors and elders. Everyone is welcome to participate!

GRIEFSHARE

Mondays, 7:00 – 8:30 pm

A GriefShare group is typically held each winter/spring. For specific dates this season, check the church calendar, or contact the church office: [email protected], 610-868-5501. GriefShare is a support group that is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.  If you are grieving the loss of someone dear, please consider joining us.
