Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians – Exp303
Taught by: Pastor Dick Bickings
Room: Fellowship Hall, South
We live in an age where we are told to think positively about ourselves,
chart our own courses, and become self-made people. It’s not long before we realize our finite limitations, and many become disillusioned, and despair of life itself.
Christians are not exempt from such views, though in Christ we have everything that pertains to life and godliness (II Peter 1:3). Paul addresses these issues in his epistles to the Galatians, Ephesians, and Philippians.
In these three epistles we find that Standing In Christ is what transcends societal norms and will not only cause the Christian to live life to its fullness, but will shine as an inextinguishable light in an deeply dark world.

Ezekiel (Part 2 of 3) – Exp324
Taught by: Scott Holwick
Room: Fellowship Hall, North
Ezekiel prophesies among the Jewish exiles in Babylon during the last days of Judah’s decline and downfall. His ministry is in some ways similar to that of his older contemporary, Jeremiah. But while Jeremiah delivers a chilling message of destruction in Jerusalem, Ezekiel brings a warming message of reconstruction in Babylon. Jeremiah is a man of tears, Ezekiel is a man of visions. And those visions stretch from horror to hope; from condemnation upon Judah’s faithless leaders and godless foes, to consolation regarding Judah’s future. Through it all, mankind would see the glory of Israel’s
sovereign God, and “they shall know that I am the Lord” (6:10).
Ezekiel, as a watchman for Israel, warned her of the judgment that was imminent and stressed the need for individual responsibility as well as national accountability before God. Each Israelite was personally to turn to the Lord. Likewise, the whole nation must ultimately return to him. Join us as we study the message of this watchman and apply its truth to our lives today.
Note: this class will continue into the spring 2015 session.

Deuteronomy – Exp325
Taught by: Richard Mastronardo
Room: Room 9 (Serving Room)
“These are the Words” is the first line of the book of Deuteronomy and the Hebrew name for this book. What words? The Words of Life and the words to remember… even for us today.
These words were the teachings of Moses to ‘equip God’s people for life in a prosperous, pluralistic context — to enable them to keep moving forward even when they have settled down’ (D.A. Carson). An important and
fascinating book, it is quoted often in the New Testament (and by Jesus). In it we find that the Law is not some rigid set of impersonal rules. It is a vital expression of God to His people, and is expressed by the people in obedient response. (Teacher’s Commentary).
So join us as we study how to “choose life” in a dying, and ungodly world.
