johnIn the Beginning was the Word – Exp217
Taught by: Mike Capaldi
Room: Room 9 (Serving Room)

In the Beginning Was the Word is a study of John’s Gospel. It begins with a study of John’s purpose for his Gospel as recorded in 20:30-31:

“And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”

John’s Gospel is a careful selection of what Jesus said and did during His earthly ministry. This selection is sufficient to support His claim to be the Son of God and to prompt belief in Christ and to grow belief as well.

Adults who already believe that Jesus is the Son of God will find their faith strengthened through this study. Those adults who do not yet believe in Jesus will have opportunity to consider Christ’s words and work as they move through the class.

actsActs (Part 2 of 2) – Exp 302

Taught by: Richard Mastronardo
Room: Fellowship Hall, North

Acts 1:1 (ESV) 1 In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach.

Right from the first verse, we see how the book of Acts is part 2, dealing with what Jesus continued to do and teach through the Holy Spirit and the Apostles. Through the adventures and stories recounted, we learn theology and application of truths of the Gospel in the lives of Christians.

As we continue the journey starting in chapter 13, we follow Paul as the gospel continues to be taken from Jews to Gentiles, from Jerusalem to the ends of the world.  Join us as we explore the roots and birth of the Church and the impact those lessons have on us today.

JoshuaJoshua – Exp212

Taught by: Pastor Dick Bickings
Room: Fellowship Hall, South

“All of us have battles that we must overcome in our lives. Sickness, the death of loved ones, and financial crisis are just a few of the battles we face. If ever there were times we wanted to experience God’s presence, these would be them. But how many of us feel abandoned by God when we don’t sense His presence? How can we get assurance that He is there in our midst?

The book of Joshua stands at a transition point in the Old Testament, linking the Five Books of Moses to the Historical Books. The book of Genesis reveals God’s promise of the land to Abraham. In the book of Joshua, we read of the initial fulfillment of that promise as Joshua leads the people of Israel in the conquest of the land, and is a reminder that the same God who went with Joshua and the people into the promised land also goes with us.”
