In Thinking Biblically in Today’s Culture – Top314
Taught by: Pastor Dick Bickings & Richard Mastronardo
Room: Fellowship Hall, South
Many of us can relate to Moses’s cry, “I am a pilgrim in a strange land.” (Ex 2:22).
As we journey in life, we find ourselves questioned, challenged, and debated on topics that do not appear to have ‘cut and dry’ answers. How should a Christian respond to the cultural issues, questions, and struggles facing all people today?
During our time together we are going to determine a Godly approach to understanding and responding to the world around us. And we will put that learning into practice by analyzing and developing answers to a number of the issues that plague us most.
Join us as we work to develop a way of thinking that will change the way we live, and relate to the world around us, such that we can be His ambassadors in this strange land.

Ezekiel (Part 1 of 3) – Exp324
Taught by: Scott Holwick
Room: Fellowship Hall, North
Ezekiel prophesies among the Jewish exiles in Babylon during the last days of Judah’s decline and downfall. His ministry is in some ways similar to that of his older contemporary, Jeremiah. But while Jeremiah delivers a chilling message of destruction in Jerusalem, Ezekiel brings a warming message of reconstruction in Babylon. Jeremiah is a man of tears; Ezekiel is a man of visions. And those visions stretch from horror to hope, from condemnation upon Judah’s faithless leaders and godless foes, to consolation regarding Judah’s future. Through it all, mankind would see the glory of Israel’s sovereign God, and “they shall know that I am the Lord.” (6:10).
Ezekiel, as a watchman for Israel, warned her of the judgment that was imminent and stressed the need for individual responsibility as well as national accountability before God. Each Israelite was personally to turn to the Lord. Likewise, the whole nation needed to ultimately return to Him. Join us as we study the message of this watchman and apply its truth to our lives today.
Note: this class will continue into the fall 2014 and spring 2015 sessions.

Old Testament Survey – Top106
Taught by: Joe Maddock
Room: Room 9 (Serving Room)
The Old Testament (OT) appears shrouded in mystery to many believers. And yet a complete picture of God and Christian principles is not really obtainable from just reading the New Testament. If we think about it, Jesus did not have Paul’s epistles but when he went away to meditate and study, he went to the Prophets, Psalms, and Writings of Moses. It was through the OT scriptures he strengthened his relationship with God.
As we explore the Old Testament we will glean the main points, historical background, key terms of each book while connecting them to the larger context of the OT. We will explore God’s plan of salvation as taught in each book and see how Christ is depicted, along with NT fulfillments. All this will be done with the goal that we too will be strengthened and encouraged in our Christian journey.
