1 Corinthians – Top200
Teachers: Elder Scott Holwick
Location: Gym North
The apostle Paul in founding this church on his 2nd missionary journey, had heard that the Corinthian church, instead of maturing in the intervening period, had developed a remarkable number of serious problems, such as division, abuse of the sacraments, disorder during worship services, theological problems, and the extremes of moral laxity and unhealthy asceticism.
Paul responds to these issues by writing this letter to the Corinthian church on his 3rd missionary journey from Ephesus. In it he addresses the following:
- Divisions in the church
- Moral and ethical problems
- Questions they asked concerning
- Marriage and divorce
- Food offer to idols
- The worship service
- Spiritual gifts
- The ressurection

Pastoral Epistles – Top200
Teachers: Pastor Dick Bickings
Location: Gym South
Descriptive phrase used in modern biblical study to designate the letters known as 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus. In Christian tradition these three writings have been grouped together since the 2nd century. They are addressed to individuals rather than to churches. The benediction at the end of each letter assumes a group of readers, however. In general, the letters offer advice to their recipients about church order, false doctrine, leadership standards, and pastoral oversight of church life.
